What do I think about Munich?
I like living in Munich but it is hard to imagine a story set in Munich.
- I’ve been living in Munich since October 2021.
- The quality of life is good.
- The city is fairly clean.
- Englischer Garten is right in the middle of the city.
- I nice place to relax (or sometimes even study!)
- Decent bike lanes (designated)
- They are not perfect but they are enough for my daily commute.
- Decent public transport
- There are not a lot of cities in the world, where I could study two separate subjects at two different universities, without paying much
- The city is a bit too expensive (especially the rent!)
- The life in Munich is very well organized (at least compared to my previous experiences in Istanbul), maybe a bit too structured (?)
- For some cities, it is really easy to imagine reading/writing an interesting story set in that city, or maybe a story about the city itself - think about Rome, London, Dublin, Tokyo, Istanbul, Paris… It is hard to imagine the same for Munich.
- I am not sure if living in a storyworthy city is desirable.
- And maybe Munich is indeed stroryworthy and I am judging the city too early?
